Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurship: Assessing the Impact of Agricultural Training Programmes on Performance

Using the case of Fadama Graduate Unemployed Youth and Women Support (GUYS) programme, this study investigated impact agricultural training programmes on youth agripreneurship performance in Nigeria. A total 977 respondents comprising 455 participants programme 522 non-participants were sampled across three states Data collected using a well-structured questionnaire programmed Open Kit (ODK). analysed Endogenous Treatment Effect Regression (ETER) model. The probit model results revealed that participation was significantly influenced by age, years formal education, marital status, current residence, employment type, perception training. empirical analysis showed after controlling for endogeneity, led to better which measure terms average income from activities. These findings highlight significance improving young agripreneurs suggest need encourage out-scale such as GUYS, both Nigeria elsewhere Africa they can contribute youth-owned agribusiness firms.
